C6000 Architecture & Optimization Workshop
The C6000 Architecture & Optimization Workshop quickly teaches production-level skills to craft code on TI C6000 DSPs. Developed in association with Texas Instruments, this in-depth workshop provides hands-on, accelerated learning that takes you from zero to fluent in just days—saving weeks or months of development time.
What you learn
Overview of the entire target device (core + peripherals + cache + EDMA) – C6748/OMAP-L138
Entire underlying C6000/Keystone core architecture and its capabilities and limitations—the key to learning how the optimizer, cache and EDMA work
Configuring and using various compiler/optimizer options including key techniques to increase performance or reduce code size
Configuring and using the cache optimally by defining the C6000 Level 1 and 2 caches along with cache terms and definitions
Key capabilities of EDMA3 along with key topics such as events, syncing, indexing, linking, chaining, interrupts, channel sorting
Walkthrough of an optimized audio example that makes full use of the C6000 EDMA3 peripheral and is more than 100 times faster than the TI-provided examples
“For a 6-month development project, expect this training to save you 1-2 weeks up front and 2-3 weeks or more on the back end—easily paying for itself many times over.”

Who’s teaching
While working for Texas Instruments, Eric Wilbur and Scott Specker created the first ever workshop in 1996 for the original C6000 DSP, As TI released more C6000 devices during the last 30 years, they continued to update this class—finding effective and optimal ways to teach highly complex topics such as core architecture, optimizer, cache and EDMA3. They even rewrote the most common TI-provided audio example using the EDMA to process audio 100 times faster than the original. This course packs 30 years’ of experience into 16-20 hours of learning.

MASTER INSTRUCTORS
Eric and Scott each have 10,000+ hours classroom experience training 4,000+ engineers at over 70 companies on DSPs, MCUs, MPUs, RTOS, and Linux O/S.
EXPERT DEVELOPERS
As course developers, they have created over 30 multi-day workshops as well as thousands of pages of user manuals, start-up guides, app notes and wiki pages.
EXPERIENCED ENGINEERS
Eric and Scott have each worked in the industry for 30+ years, helping customers navigate hundreds of processors, development kits, software packages, and operating systems.
